How to get rid of wasps on a farm?

To get rid of wasps on a farm effectively it is important to fight continuously the adult specimens, whether by using traps or with specific insecticides.

Wasps are diurnal animals, so the best moment to attack their nests with specific insecticides is during night-time or before dawn.

To keep wasp-free areas during daytime, we recommend the use of traps with attractants around the perimeter of the area to be protected.

It is recommendable to act cautiously with wasp nests.

Very important warning: Wasp stings can be very painful and can cause important adverse reactions, especially in people that are allergic to wasp poison.

How to chase wasps away in the field?

To shoo wasps it is important to remove remains of fruit and other kinds of food that attract wasps. Intense smells, such as perfumes, and bright-coloured clothes must be avoided.

To chase wasps away traps with attractants can be placed in the limits of the area to be protected.

The traps must be kept in good condition and with enough attractant liquid to be effective.

How to control wasps?

For a good wasp control we must be able to locate their nests. To control wasp nests, we must avoid taking care of them during the hottest hours of the day, because the insects are active and can be dangerous if they feel threatened by our presence near the nest.

It is recommendable to proceed during the coolest part of the day, whether during night-time or before dawn, through the application of specific insecticides onto the nest.

During the wasps’ diurnal activity hours, their control with attractant traps is a good solution.

It is recommendable to proceed with caution with wasp nests.

Kinds of treatments against wasps

Treatments against wasps consist in the combined used of specific insecticides and attractant traps.

You will be able to act directly onto the wasp nest with the insecticides, whilst with the use of the attractant traps you will fight the adult specimens present in the area to be treated.

We must highlight the insecticides against wasps available in a spray format ready for their application. This treatment format allows a quick and efficient action, being especially suitable for acting against wasp nests during the time of day when the insects are less active.

How to get rid of Asian hornets?

To control Asian hornets you can use traps with attractants to catch the specimens present in the area to be treated.

The destruction of Asian hornet nests must be performed by experienced staff, because they are normally found on the highest branches of the trees. The recommended season for the removal of these nests would be from September and October.

For the control of the adult specimens with attractant traps it is recommendable to place them as of June.

The Asian hornet hunts honey bees, and this causes an important drop in their pollinating ability of fruit trees and vegetable gardens, because bees are one of the main natural pollinating agents.

Where do Asian hornets live?

Asian hornets have spread in several European regions and are a problem for the local species’ diversity. Their presence affects the bee population, that is hunted by the Asian hornets. This drop in the local population of bees causes a smaller pollination of the trees and vegetables, with the serious consequences that this entails.

Asian hornets normally build their nests on the highest areas of the trees located near watercourses. These nests start to become visible by June. The most appropriate time of the year to remove and destroy the nests is as of September and October, and it should always be carried out by specialised staff.

We will help you to choose the most effective treatment to control wasps and Asian hornets on your farm and in your garden.
